SwissSkills 2022: These are the best 🎥

STRONG PERFORMANCE 20 talents from the Swiss automotive industry can look forward to tickets for the biggest vocational championships in SwissSkills history from September 7 to 11, 2022 at Bernexpo.

Three special talents from the commercial vehicles sector took the best places at Mobilcity, the competence center for cars and transport in Bern. They solved the tasks at the transmission, MFK test, engine diagnosis and electric circuits posts with flying colors.

Maël Holzer from Rebeuvelier JU, Léo Bifrare from Vuisternens-devant-Romont FR and Sophie Schumacher from Hagneck BE are delighted with their victories (from left).

History of mobility fascinates
Léo Bifrare from Vuisternens-devant-Romont FR finished as the best of the 31 participants.

Léo Bifrare: "I was actually only here to be part of it, but the fact that it was the first rank motivates me a lot, you immediately feel like continuing. What fascinates me about the profession is the long history of mobility."

Sophie Schumacher, an automotive mechatronics technician from Hagneck BE, came in second. Her goal was to get through the qualification safely.

Sophie Schumacher: "You're competing against the same protagonists again, but that doesn't mean that you don't have to do anything now to prepare. It's definitely nice to be up front in a man's world. This success gives me confidence for the fall."

The third place was deservedly won by Maël Holzer from Rebeuvelier in the Jura.

Professional skills and practical work
With their exceptional performance, the three relegated the 28 other automotive mechatronics technicians of the same age born in 2001 and younger to the other places.

All of them achieved at least a grade of 5.0 in their final apprenticeship exams in professional knowledge and practical work and had registered for SwissSkills by May.

September is all about top places
Nevio Bernet from Ufhusen LU (gallery on the right) and his colleague Fabio Bossart from Schötz LU (gallery on the left) also met these requirements. The 18-year-old Nevio Bernet had just passed his final apprenticeship examination and also qualified for the big event in the fall. He completed his apprenticeship as an automotive mechatronics technician at the Lucerne village garage Wagner AG in Zell.

Fabio Bossart, 20, completed his apprenticeship in the commercial vehicle sector at Grund AG Fahrzeuge in Triengen LU and is currently working in the passenger vehicle sector at Luzerner Auto Birrer AG in Sursee.

Fabio Bossart: "I want to find out what I like better. In addition, I will add training as an automotive diagnostician."

The two will also be competing for a top place at the SwissSkills in September. We can be curious.
