Swiss Skills
The happy medal winners (from left): Yannick Henggeler, Florent Lacilla and Pascal Barmettler.

The 21-year-old from Cottens impressively prevailed over his competitors and already won the semi-final.

Finally, Florent Lacilla confirmed his good performance and completed the engine mechanics, engine management and car body electrics posts most successfully. Please see the gallery.

Chance for participation in the WorldSkills
The Freiburg native relegated Pascal Barmettler (Reitnau AG) and Yannick Henggeler (Oberägeri ZG) to second and third place.

Florent Lacilla: "I am very happy that I won. I really wanted to finish first and thus have the chance to qualify for the WorldSkills via Eurocup."

Competition format challenged candidates
Olivier Maeder, who is responsible for education at the Auto Gewerbe Verband Schweiz (AGVS), emphasized the qualities of the winner and also had words of appreciation for his competitors.

Olivier Maeder: "Florent worked calmly, methodically and quickly - and is thus the deserved winner. The participants were ambitious and the new competition format challenged them. Nevertheless, they had fun and were proud to prove their skills. The elimination process had increased the pressure on the participants. Each day of competition started from scratch again - the contestants couldn't take the points from the previous day with them."

Good result for the only woman
The "SwissSkills Championships" were held instead of the "SwissSkills" due to the Covid 19 pandemic and were decentralized for 60 professions. The AGVS opted for a three-day competition in the Mobilcity.

Olivier Maeder was particularly pleased with the good ninth place of Vera Häner from Sissach BL, the only woman in the 27-strong field of candidates.

Olivier Maeder: "I hope, of course, that this will be an incentive and that next time more women will participate in our professional championships."

Qualification for Eurocup in Dresden
Florent Lacilla, Pascal Barmettler and Yannick Henggeler have qualified for the Eurocup, which will take place in Dresden in December.

Whoever does best there will take part in the WorldSkills in Shanghai in 2021 and will represent Switzerland there.
