At the end of November, Swiss Post had announced that it had reached its target of having 5,000 StreetScooters in operation

The Work XL model, which has been in production since October and which Street-Scooter is building together with the car manufacturer Ford at its Cologne plant, already has the large-scale production approval. The EC type approval confirms that production standards are met even with production volumes of many thousands of vehicles.

Parts of the battery come from BMW
This is not the only cooperation with a German car manufacturer that StreetScooter GmbH - a subsidiary of Deutsche Post and DHL - has entered into. In the future, some of the smaller electric vans operated by Deutsche Post will run on batteries from BMW. The batteries produced at the Dingolfing plant are identical in construction to those in the BMW i3 and have a capacity of 33 kWh.

The approval is also valid for Switzerland
The approval also applies to foreign countries including Switzerland and Norway. Registration in non-EU countries will also be considerably simplified by the permit. Street Scooters are already on the road in other European countries: The British milk supplier Milk & More, for example, acquired 200 vehicles in the middle of this year. In addition, Street Scooters are in use for DHL in the Netherlands and Austria.
