The FR trim complements the Ateca model range, which previously consisted of the Reference, Style and XCELLENCE trim lines. In order to offer different types of drivers the best possible choices, FR and XCELLENCE are offered at the same price. The FR variant is aimed at drivers who value a sportier driving style. XCELLENCE, on the other hand, focuses on comfort, elegance and the latest technologies.
Sales launch successful
Since its market launch last year, Seat has already sold more than 40,000 units of the Ateca worldwide. The exterior of the Ateca FR differs from the XCELLENCE not only in the FR logo at the front and rear. In addition, the roof rails and window frames - unlike on the sister model - are in black. At the front, the radiator grille features its own design in glossy black and the underside of the bumpers comes in body color exclusive to the FR. The LED fog lamps have also been given an exclusive FR design at the front.
Agility and dynamics
„The Ateca FR makes our first SUV even more exciting. The agile and precise handling of the Ateca is further enhanced with a touch of dynamism and fun on four wheels, which are added in the FR trim, for example, with the optionally available DCC adaptive chassis control and progressive steering," says Dr. Matthias Rabe, Board Member for Research and Development. The FR stands out particularly in side view with its 18-inch wheels with 245/40-R18 tires and aluminum-look wheel arches and side sills painted in body color. The rear window is framed by black side spoilers as well as a spoiler at the rear that matches the body color. The rear bumpers were also designed exclusively for the FR and are equally painted in body color.
Luxurious touch
In the interior, the door sill trims with the FR logo stand out as soon as the front doors are opened; they are made of aluminum, as are the pedals. The FR logo also appears on the multifunction sports steering wheel with leather cover and elements in glossy black. The sport comfort seats are included as standard and are upholstered in Alcantara - they are also available with leather upholstery as an option. The red stitching on the steering wheel and Alcantara and leather seats and on the shift knob further emphasize the sporty character. In addition, elegant details in black give the interior a luxurious touch, for example the headliner and the interior trim of the doors, which feature an exclusive FR finish.
New engine available
In addition, the engine range will feature a new 2.0 TSI engine with 190 hp and the combination of 4Drive all-wheel drive and 7-speed DSG. The Ateca FR can be ordered from mid-May.
