Škoda: Record drift with the Enyaq RS iV Stromer 🎥
GLATTE SACHE Škoda's Enyaq RS iV has made its way into the Guinness Book of Records with two entries. With the Stromer, a drift course was circumnavigated 39 times in 15 minutes and 58 seconds on the record drive.
With 7,351 kilometers, British automotive journalist Richard Meaden managed both the longest uninterrupted drift of a vehicle on ice and at the same time the longest drift on ice of an electric vehicle. The previous record had been set just last year in China and stood at 6,231 kilometers. The new record was achieved on a frozen lake near Stortjärnen in Sweden. The Enyaq RS iV reached a top speed of 48.69 km/h and 31.64 km/h at the slowest point.
Five millimeter studs for the tires
This was preceded by test runs with various tire combinations. For the record attempt, the automaker used a production vehicle with 20-inch alloy wheels. The specially fitted 245/35 Michelin Däckproffsen tires on the front axle were fitted with 600 five-millimeter studs, while Nokian 255/45-R20 Hakkapelitta tires with 300 two-millimeter studs provided grip on the rear axle.
