In an email, the Koreans informed their Swiss distributors "that the Hyundai brand will not be represented at the Geneva International Motor Show in 2019." The reason given for the absence is the group's strategy, which includes the "development of various and innovative communication platforms". For March and April 2019, the manufacturer announced an "exhibition month in the Hyundai distribution network".
After Opel, followed Volvo and Ford
Volvo and Ford had already announced in June that they would not be attending the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. Both had still occupied very large exhibition areas in 2018. Opel will refrain from participating in Palexpo, as it did in 2018. Geneva is not alone affected by the withdrawals: For the Paris Motor Show from the beginning of October, Lamborghini, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru, VW and, as in Geneva, Ford, Volvo and Opel, among others, had cancelled.
