At the autobau Erlebniswelt in Romanshorn, vehicle restorers specializing in automotive technology and bodywork mechanics completed two years of further training with the presentation of their federal certificate of proficiency.
The course is new in the offer of the Auto Gewerbe Verband Schweiz. The Garagistenverband has joined forces with the Swiss Carrossierverband and the Interessengemeinschaft Fahrzeugrestauratoren Schweiz to offer this course.

Vehicle restorers receive knowledge
Olivier Maeder, Head of Education at the AGVS: "The classic car and youngtimer market is constantly growing. We need vehicle restorers. Many older mechanics who still know their way around old vehicles are about to retire. It's important that the knowledge is preserved."
Both the course and the examination were correspondingly demanding. While eight of the eleven participants in the automotive technology specialization were able to obtain their certificate of proficiency, the quota for the bodyworkers was lower: Christian Zbinden and Bruno Buchwalder can be pleased about their graduation.

Top mark went to a car body repairer
The best grade of the year went to a car body technician: Christian Zbinden from Schwarzenburg BE achieved an average grade of 5.5. Kevin Frey from Rickenbach LU and Angelo Tenore from Emmen LU came out on top in the automotive technology field with a grade of 5.1.
