With its typical angles, which went well with the beveled Renault hoods of the 1920s, the geometric figure of the diamond in the shape of a diamond had become established as the brand emblem at Louis Renault in 1925.
Since then, the French automaker has renewed its logo eight times. The last time the emblem was given a new look was in 1992, followed by a discreet makeover in 2015. Now the diamond is experiencing its ninth stage of evolution.
Advertising campaign and social networks
Hardly any observers have missed it: When Renault presented its Renaulution strategy a few weeks ago, a strikingly different rhombus was emblazoned behind Renault CEO Luca de Meo.
Since then, this new symbol has been seen more and more often, quite discreetly and without any accompanying music. Meanwhile, it appeared in the new advertising campaign for the Zoe, then also in the social networks of the brand.
Preservation of brand heritage and new era
Director Design Gilles Vidal: "To meet the challenges of a modern international brand, but also the diversity of its expressions, especially on a digital level, Renault has been working on a new version since 2019. The recently unveiled new rhombus symbolizes the balance between preserving the brand's heritage and entering a new era with an eye to the future."
By 2024, all models will bear the emblem
The clear design of the new logo also has very practical advantages in terms of modern media presentation options.
They facilitate its animation, for example in moving images, in digital media, but also on the info monitors in the vehicles, for example during their welcome sequence. The emblem
will gradually be seen on all Renault models from next year. By 2024, the entire range will bear the new emblem.
