The decision was preceded by a three-week test including a comparison drive of over 1600 kilometers. The electric vehicles were all models that had previously achieved top marks in the magazine's tests.
Practical utility and driving pleasure
In addition to the Mustang Mach-E, the contenders for the title included the Audi e-tron, Kia Niro, Nissan Leaf Plus, Polestar 2, Porsche Taycan 4S PBP, Tesla Model 3 Performance, Tesla Model S Long Range Plus, Tesla Model Y Performance, Volkswagen ID 4 and Volvo XC40 Recharge.
The "Car and Driver" test program consists of measurements, subjective driving impressions and direct comparisons of both the practical utility and driving pleasure of the respective models.
Awards non-stop
Previously, the Mustang Mach-E had already won the "Editor's Choice Award" from "Car and Driver" and won the "Eco-Friendly Car of the Year Award" in the USA from Cars.com and "Utility of the Year" from "AutoGuide" received.
It was also voted "Green Vehicle of the Year" and won the "Car Buyer's Award" from the trade magazine "Autoweek".
