Range Rover Sport as a hybrid
RANGE ROVER SPORT With the 2018 model year, the Range Rover is also available as a plug-in hybrid for the first time. The Range Rover Sport P400e combines a 300-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor with 116 hp. The system output is 404 hp, which is transmitted to all four wheels. The system output is 404 hp, which is transmitted to all four wheels. This enables the Range Rover Sport as a plug-in hybrid to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 220 km/h. The maximum torque is 640 Newton meters.
The standard range in electric mode is up to 51 kilometers. In the special measurement cycle for plug-in hybrids, this makes for an average consumption of 2.8 liters per 100 kilometers and CO2 emissions of 64 g/km. A special feature of the P400e with ZF eight-speed automatic is the "PEO" (Predictive Energy Optimization) driving mode: If the driver enters a destination into the navigation system, the control system calculates the most fuel-efficient combination of electric and gasoline drive. It also uses GPS data for the route, such as altitude values. The Terrain Response 2 control system has also been adapted to the Sport's new drive mode.
