Porsche: Full throttle with hand throttle

FUN ON THE PISTES Porsche equipped with hand controls make new driving experiences possible for wheelchair users. The kick-off of "Go with your Pro - Wheels powered by Veigel" took place with prominent athletes at the Red Bull Ring.

Both cars were adapted and converted to manual operation by specialists from Veigel.

In the future, wheelchair users will be able to enjoy mobility with plenty of drive power and hone their driving technique on Austria's Grand Prix racetrack and in the Driving Center with two Porsche models that have been fully converted to manual operation.

Pure power with 350 or 420 hp as desired
The Red Bull Ring is thus primarily aimed at people with paraplegia. From winter 2021, wheelchair users at Spielberg will be able to choose between a 718 Cayman S (350 hp) and a 718 Cayman GT4 (420 hp) all year round.

Both cars were adapted to the needs of wheelchair users by specialists from Veigel and completely converted to manual operation.

Braking exercises and slaloms in the Driving Center
Among the first driving students were former ski jumper Lukas Müller, former Nordic combiner Philipp Kuttin, mono skier Markus Gfatterhofer and equestrian Pepo Puch, silver medalist at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

After an introduction in the Driving Center with braking exercises and during the slalom, the number of strokes was significantly increased during drifting and in the handling course.

Lukas Müller: "It was really world class to drive these sports cars on a real race track, to feel the speed and the 300 to 400 hp."
