Porsche: Update for all Taycans
SOFTWARE 2023 Regardless of vehicle age, engine, body and market, all model variants of the Porsche Taycan can be brought up to the status of model year 2023 with a software update free of charge.
Porsche has delivered more than 75,000 Taycan models worldwide since the all-electric sports car was launched at the end of 2019. Now a comprehensive update is due.
Depending on when the vehicle was delivered, customers will benefit from, among other things, increased efficiency in the powertrain as well as new functions and improvements in Communication Management (PCM), Porsche Connect, and the assistance systems.
In addition, the update includes the option to have individual functions and equipment unlocked after purchase. The update is installed free of charge during a workshop visit.
Retrofit with 22 kW onboard charger
The exact scope of the update and the duration of the workshop visit depend on the specific software status of the respective Taycan. The older the vehicle, the more improvements and new features will be installed.
Recently, the 22 kW on-board charger can also be retrofitted. Customers can combine this retrofit with a visit to the workshop for the software update at their own expense.
Better conditioning of the battery
In the Normal and Range driving modes, the front electric motor of the all-wheel drive models is almost completely disconnected and de-energized in the partial load range. When sailing and at a standstill, both axles are free of drive torque. The electric freewheel reduces drag losses and increases the range.
Better conditioning of the battery especially at low outside temperatures allows the Taycan to be fast-charged more frequently and over a wider range of battery charge levels.
Tile design on the home screen
New functions, a colorful tile design on the home screen, and even greater ease of use are among the adjustments made to Communication Management and Connect.
In Taycans of model years 2020, 2021 and in vehicles produced up to February 2022, voice control is optimized after the update and the Spotify app is integrated. In addition, some assistance systems can now support the driver in even more situations.
Unlocking functions after vehicle purchase
The keyless opening function (convenience access) for the doors and tailgate can now be activated on request on all Taycans for the 2020, 2021 and 2022 model years. In addition, the option of over-the-air software updates (OTA) has been further expanded for the new model year.
