THERE MAY ALWAYS BE MORE The top model in Porsche's 718 family, the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, is ideally equipped for its debut in November. Development driver Jörg Bergmeister demonstrated this at the Nürburgring and the Furka Pass.

The experienced driver circumnavigated the 20.832-kilometer Nürburgring-Nordschleife in a lightly camouflaged production car in 7:09.300 minutes. The GT4 RS completed the shorter 20.6-kilometer track variant used for comparison in 7:04.511 minutes-exactly 23.6 seconds faster than the 718 Cayman GT4.

Mid-engine sports car with racing seat
To point all comments in the right direction, Porsche points out that a notary confirmed the standard condition and weight of the vehicle.

To protect the driver, the mid-engine sports car was equipped with a racing seat. Mounted were the optionally available Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires.

Andreas Preuninger and Jörg Bergmeister explain the technology of the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS in the video.

Lightweight construction, downforce, higher engine power

Andreas Preuninger, Head of GT Vehicles: "During development, we gave the GT4 RS everything that characterizes a true RS: Lightweight construction, more downforce, higher engine output and, of course, even more direct handling.

The fantastic lap time on the Nordschleife is impressive proof of how clearly these improvements in driving dynamics are noticeable."

One of the hottest models from Stuttgart

Jörg Bergmeister adds: "The 718 Cayman GT4 RS is an uncompromising driving machine. It feels as agile as a go-kart on mountain roads and yet is impressively stable on the race track. Otherwise, a lap time at this level is not even possible. It's one of the sharpest cars Porsche has ever developed. And you really have to experience the breathtaking soundscape for yourself."
