Porsche: New record on the Nordschleife 🎥

DONE The 525-hp Porsche 911 GT3 RS lapped the Nürburgring's Nordschleife in 6:49.328 minutes. A strong performance. It completed the previously common shortened lap in 6:44.848 minutes.

The new model lapped the 20.8-kilometer Nordschleife of the Nürburgring in 6:49.328 minutes - 10.6 seconds faster than the current 911 GT3. At the wheel was Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister, who has been involved in the development of the new top model in the series.

Porsche: New record 911 GT3 RS
In the fast sections, the 911 GT3 RS is in a league of its own.

At 285 km/h 860 kilograms of downforce
The 525-hp 911 GT3 RS with Weissach package was fitted with the optionally available Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 R tires in the dimensions 275/35 R 20 at the front and 335/30 R21 at the rear. At 285 km/h, the RS achieved a total downforce of 860 kilograms - three times that of a 911 GT3.

Level like a high class race car

Jörg Bergmeister: "Due to the strong, partly gusty wind, we lost a little downforce. Nevertheless, I'm very happy with the lap. The 911 GT3 RS is in a league of its own, especially in the fast sections. Here the car is on a level that you'd otherwise only find in top-class race cars. The car also sets new standards in braking. So fast laps on the Nordschleife are simply a lot of fun."

The lap time was achieved in the presence of a notary.
