Porsche: More power on two wheels 🎥
FUTURE Porsche wants to expand its e-bike commitment. To this end, two joint ventures set up by the sports car manufacturer with the Dutch company Ponooc Investment are commencing operations.
Porsche eBike Performance GmbH is to develop electric drive systems for two-wheelers. P2 eBike GmbH - powered by Porsche wants to use these drives and launch a new generation of Porsche e-bikes on the market from the middle of the decade.
Joint venture is technology partner
In addition to compact drive systems from Fazua, Porsche eBike Performance will develop and produce particularly powerful drive systems under the name of the sports car brand.
Both product categories are also to be sold to other manufacturers worldwide in the future. The newly founded joint venture will act as a technology partner.
Greyp and Fazua are new
Background: In recent months, Porsche has acquired stakes in several companies in the e-bike segment. In addition to the Croatian brand Greyp, these also include Fazua. Porsche increased its stake to 100 percent in June and has now merged the company into Performance GmbH.
Independent of the joint venture activities, Porsche continues to work with partner Rotwild. In March 2021, the company had presented exclusive electric bikes in the form of the Porsche eBike Sport and the Porsche eBike Cross.
Cyklær platform for digital services
Porsche Digital also offers a platform for digital services around the cycling experience under the Cyklær brand. The multiple award-winning Cyklær Bike was developed together with Fazua and Greyp.
