Polestar: With 75 kW electric across the sea 🎥
COMBINATION The Candela C-8 Polestar Edition is the next phase in the partnership between Polestar and Candela. It transfers Scandinavian design for electric vehicles to an innovative electric hydrofoil.
With this collaboration, the companies are demonstrating how they intend to accelerate the shift to more sustainable electric mobility. Previously, the two Swedish mobility brands had reached an agreement for Polestar to supply the batteries and charging technology for Candela's electric hydrofoils.
Maximilian Missoni, head of design at Polestar, said, "Candela's hydrofoil technology is a paradigm shift for sustainable performance in the marine industry. Now we're adding that extra touch with the special gold details we showcase so prominently on our cars."
Imagination of luxury at sea
The Candela C-8 Polestar Edition brings Polestar's idea of luxury to the marine industry. A new exterior color, complemented by a lighter shade of gray on the interior, gives the boat an elegant look. This is reinforced by the use of the same textile material throughout the boat. Design upgrades also incorporate know-how from the automotive industry, in the form of specially developed seat upholstery.
Electric direct drive with 75 kW
Candela C-8 uses 75-kW direct electric propulsion and appears to fly on computer-controlled wings. The hull is lifted above the water at high speeds to reduce energy consumption by up to 80 percent compared to conventional powerboats. The special edition is available online at the Polestar Additionals web store or at Candela.com and is supplied by Candela. Prices start at 400,000 euros.
