Peugeot: 308 is the favorite of women
POINTS FOR THE LION The members of the global Women's World Car of the Year jury have chosen the new Peugeot 308 as Urban Car of the Year. The jury evaluated 65 models launched in 2021.
Voted City Car of the Year, the new Peugeot 308 embodies "excellence in safety, handling, technology, design, environmental efficiency and value for money," according to the WWCOTY jury. This was the conclusion reached by the 56 female members of the voting panel, who came from 40 countries and five continents.
Strategic decisions are important
Linda Jackson, Global CEO of the Peugeot brand, said, "The fact that the new 308 was chosen as the best urban vehicle of 2022 by a jury made up exclusively of women from very different geographical backgrounds also shows the importance of Peugeot's strategic choices."
Overall winner to be determined on March 8
From the winning models in the six categories of city car, family SUV, family car, large SUV, sports car and SUV, the 56 jury members will choose their final Women's World Car of the Year 2022 in early March. The results of the vote will be announced on March 8, International Women's Day.
Following the double victory of the Peugeot 2008 in the city SUV category and the Peugeot 208 in the city vehicle category last year, the Peugeot 308 is now the third vehicle from the lion brand to win a WWCOTY category in two years.
