The new Opel flagship will be rolling into Swiss dealerships from the fall. The all-rounder is the right choice especially for winter sports enthusiasts, country fans and anyone who simply appreciates a very individual appearance. At the same time, the Insignia Country Tourer impresses with the same virtues as its brothers: spacious and, thanks to the completely new architecture, significantly lighter than the predecessor model. Black trim all around and silver-colored underride protection elements at the front and rear give the newcomer a gritty off-road look.
Equipped for adventure
The new Opel Insignia Country Tourer offers a wide range of powertrains - including a new top-of-the-line engine on the diesel side. Also in the lineup: a new eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive technology. In addition to 20 millimeters more ground clearance, there is the innovative all-wheel drive with "torque vectoring" and a new five-link rear axle. Instead of a conventional open rear axle differential, which transmits torque equally to the wheels, the Opel Insignia Country Tourer has two electrically controlled multi-plate clutches. These ensure more precise, individual power transmission to each wheel - regardless of the ground with wet, ice or snow.
Robust optics
The new Insignia Sports Tourer already boasts sporty, elegant styling and striking lines. The new Country Tourer has all these qualities and more. With its rougher, more idiosyncratic charm, it marks the top variant of the model series. The prominent, large grille and narrow front headlights visually stretch the Country Tourer. The black protective trim running along the entire lower section of the vehicle and around the wheel arches emphasizes the robust appearance.
Packs something away
But the new top model is one thing above all: extremely practical. For example, the tailgate works in combination with the "Keyless Open" closing and starting system via kick to make loading as easy as possible. A pictogram projected onto the floor shows where the kick is to be placed under the rear. The flap then opens and closes without having to touch the vehicle. To increase the luggage compartment, the second row of seats can be folded down three times in a 40:20:40 ratio at the touch of a button from the trunk. This increases the load volume to up to 1665 liters - over 130 liters more than in the predecessor.
