At the award ceremony, CEO Michael Lohscheller was honored with the "Manbest" award as best manager of the year 2019. In addition, the Opel CEO accepted the "Best Buy Car 2020" trophy for the new Corsa. The international Autobest jury selected the Blitz as the car with the best price-performance ratio in Europe.
"Best Buy Car of Europe" for the third time
This makes the new Corsa the perfect title hat-trick: no other model has ever been named "Best Buy Car of Europe" in three consecutive generations. The guests also included Head of Marketing and Sales Xavier Duchemin, Head of Development Christian Müller and Head of Communications Harald Hamprecht.
Ultra-modern and also electric
Michael Lohscheller: "The new Corsa is a pioneering car: ultra-modern, with the best driving dynamics and also electric. It offers top technology at a fair price. Corsa-e start of the electric offensive
Following the takeover by the PSA Group in 2017, Opel developed the "Pace" restructuring plan to make Opel sustainably profitable, global and electric. The new Corsa-e kicked off the electric offensive with its world premiere last summer. The electric Corsa combines practical qualities with locally CO2-free operation and an electric range of up to 337 kilometers according to WLTP. Corsa generation numbers four and five won the overall Autobest title back in 2007 and 2015.
