From the beginning of 2019 to the end of 2020, the Rüsselsheim-based manufacturer will launch a total of eight completely new or revised models on the market, investing primarily in profitable segments with high sales volumes. Opel will then offer one of the youngest portfolios of all volume manufacturers.
Next generation Vivaro and Corsa at the start
In 2019 alone, the company will present the next generation of the best-selling Corsa and the successor to the successful Vivaro, which will be launched as a passenger car and light commercial vehicle. Additional variants and equipment versions of the new Combo will also be launched, rejuvenating the range of light commercial vehicles. The successor to the Mokka X will follow in 2020 and play a decisive role in increasing the share of SUVs in total sales from 25 percent to 40 percent in 2021.
Every model also available as an electric version by 2024
Next summer, the order books will be opened for the all-electric, five-seater Corsa and the Grandland X plug-in hybrid. By the end of 2020, Opel will have a total of four electrified models on offer, which will offer a lot of driving pleasure and help to increase the demand for e-vehicles. By 2024, every Opel model will also be available in an electrified version. The future will soon go into series production.
In order to comply with the strict future CO2 limits and to focus on high-volume segments, the ADAM, KARL and Cascada models will not have successors at the end of their life cycle. However, they will remain on sale until the end of 2019.
