Acceleration depending on driving situation
Thanks to torque vectoring, each individual wheel is supplied with a measured amount of power. This means that the wheels are accelerated individually, depending on the driving situation - regardless of the road surface, wetness, ice or snow. Annoying understeer, i.e. pushing over the front wheels, is therefore largely foreign to the Insignia; it follows exactly the track that the driver specifies by steering command.
Swiss opt for all-wheel drive
In Switzerland, the 4×4 drive in the Opel Insignia is particularly important. Around 65 percent of the Insignia was ordered with all-wheel drive. Twinster all-wheel drive including torque vectoring is available for the Grand Sport, Sports Tourer, Country Tourer and GSi model versions.
Annual election takes place in ten categories
The election for the "All-Wheel Drive Car of the Year" held by the trade magazine Auto Bild Allrad comprises ten categories of different vehicle and price classes. In each category, the experts first make a pre-selection of models. Then it's up to the readers. The respective winners then emerge directly from this reader vote.
