Nissan: From pole to pole with Stromer Ariya 🎥

EXPEDITION The adventurous couple Chris and Julie Ramsey start their journey from the North to the South Pole in a modified Nissan Ariya. The journey takes them over 27,000 kilometers through North, Central and South America.

In the middle of the icy Arctic, Julie and Chris Ramsey have now set off on a pole-to-pole expedition in a Nissan electric car. This will take them across America to Antarctica. The two are taking on the challenge of completing the journey in an electrically powered Nissan Ariya. They want to use the expedition to demonstrate the performance of electric vehicles and at the same time increase their acceptance.

The Ariya has been slightly modified for the long trip. These include a special suspension and flared wheel arches for the huge 39-inch tires. No changes were made to the battery or powertrain, however. The same applies to the all-wheel drive system.

Wind turbine and foldable solar cells

On their journey through the remote polar regions, Julie and Chris carry a renewable energy system that includes a retractable wind turbine and foldable solar panels. This allows them to use wind and daylight to charge the car's traction battery during breaks in the journey.

Julie Ramsey: "It will be great to share our adventures with the whole world and showcase the interesting people, stories and projects along the way. We would love as many people as possible to become a part of Pole to Pole and join the expedition on our social media channels."
