Nissan: A shower of stars for the green Leaf
CLEAN THING The Nissan Leaf e+ achieves the maximum of five stars in Green NCAP's latest environmental ranking. The top rating recognizes the electric pioneer's pioneering role in terms of clean air and energy efficiency.
Green NCAP promotes the development of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly cars. The vehicles examined are put through their paces in several practical and laboratory tests according to strict standards.
The Nissan Leaf e+, equipped with a 62-kWh battery, impressed in all three categories. It received ten out of ten possible points for air quality and 9.9 out of ten points for energy efficiency.
Range and driver assistance systems
Marco Fioravanti, Region Vice President for Product Planning in Nissan's Africa, Middle East, India, Europe and Oceania region: "As the first electric car for the mass market, the Nissan Leaf has stood for sustainable mobility since its launch in 2010. The current Leaf e+ combines high ranges and intelligent driver assistance systems. Thanks to the more powerful lithium-ion battery, the car travels up to 385 kilometers on one battery charge."
