At the General Assembly on May 11 at the Galliker Car Logistics premises in Altishofen LU, the automobile importers decided on a new strategy for their association. In his speech, President François Launaz emphasized that "auto-schweiz can and must play an increasingly important role in the political and administrative arena of our country". The guest lecture by Simone Amorosi, Deputy Director of the Transportation Center TRACE at EPFL Lausanne, focused on the future of the automotive industry. In his presentation to around 70 guests and members, Amorosi shed light on the exciting future of the automobile with regard to electrification and automation. Afterwards, host Rolf Galliker, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Galliker Transport AG and Managing Director of Galliker Car Logistics, gave those present a tour of the impressive in-house facility, where new cars are prepared for delivery on behalf of various vehicle importers and dealers.
President François Launaz was unanimously confirmed in office for a further three years. Vice President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Schweiz AG Marcel Guerry, a member of the auto-schweiz Board of Directors since 2011, was also elected to the management committee for a further three years. The Board is completed by Vice Chairman Morten Hannesbo, CEO of Amag Automobil- und Motoren AG, Kurt Egloff, President and CEO of BMW (Schweiz) AG, and Philipp Rhomberg, Member of the Executive Board of the Emil Frey Group.
