The advance of electrically rechargeable models is also reflected in the current model statistics: with 1297 new registrations, the Model 3 from electric car manufacturer Tesla is well ahead of the second-placed VW Tiguan (625).
Škoda Octavia in the top ten again
However, it is important to know that Tesla usually delivers more cars in the last month of each quarter than in the preceding months in terms of stock market performance.
Third place in the top ten in June goes to the Škoda Octavia, 530 of which were newly registered.
Good results for Volkswagen and Fiat
Just behind the podium, two small cars are closing in on the big ones: the VW Polo (506), which will be available with a facelift in the fall, and the Fiat 500 (443), whose electric variant with the closed radiator grille can be seen more often.
The Audi Q3 (427), the VW Golf (421) and the Dacia Sandero (373) occupy sixth, seventh and eighth place respectively. The BMW 1 Series and the Volvo XC40 also made it into the current top ten.
Top ranking from 26th to 4th place
Apart from the Tesla, no other all-electric model made it into June's top ten. With this top ranking, the U.S. brand is catching up strongly in the cumulative model statistics.
While the Model 3 was still in 26th place from January to May 2021, the electric car now snatches fourth place after the first half of the year - behind the evergreen Skoda Octavia (2790), the VW Tiguan (2435) and the Audi Q3 (2261).
