Mobilog: Sustainable bodywork and paint center
THE NEXT STEP Amag is continuing to implement its sustainability and climate strategy with the new body and paint center in Lupfig. The center in Lupfig, operated by Mobilog, is one of the most efficient of its kind.

The use of various new technologies saves energy costs and protects the environment. Each year, around 35 tons less CO2 are emitted and 176,000 kWh of electricity are self-produced thanks to the construction method and technology.
Net zero climate-neutral footprint by 2040
Sustainability and environmental protection are the basis of business activities for the Amag Group. Thus, the company aims to become climate-neutral by 2025, and a climate-neutral footprint according to net zero is planned by 2040.
Real estate also plays a central role in this. As a showcase operation, this also includes the new bodywork and paint center, which has been built in a hall that was previously rented out. Here, damage to vehicles arriving at the vehicle logistics center is repaired immediately.
Technologies are used to implement the specifications of Amag's sustainability and climate strategy. The innovations also include the Cameleon workstation, a workplace for all bodywork regardless of the material.
Painting process with Paint-Perform-Air technology
Paint-Perform-Air technology is used for painting work. Thanks to special heat recovery in the paint booths, the temperature required for paint drying can be reduced by half.
The pretreatment of the add-on parts with the big box blower also ensures a reduction in personnel, material and time costs. This uses an eddy current rotation process in which the parts to be painted are treated with microfine matting particles.
PV system on the roof and heating with biogas
As a matter of principle, the new body and paint center is heated with biogas. One of Amag's eleven photovoltaic systems is currently installed on the roof. It covers an area of around 1000 square meters.
The electricity produced in this way covers 80 to 90 percent of the company's own needs. The new center is part of a larger plan involving expansion and conversion measures that also affect the Academy, the car warehouse and the Technical Service Center.
