The biggest hurdle is the network of charging stations. With Juice Technology, EVTEC and Helion, Mobility is bringing three partners on board to drive the expansion.
By 2023, 300 charging stations are to be available throughout Switzerland. Since Mobility does not own the parking spaces but rents them, the decisive factor will be whether and when the landlords join in with electrification.
Attractive offer for site owners
Managing Director Roland Lötscher: "We want as many charging stations as possible and as quickly as possible. I think most landlords will recognize the signs of the times and seize the opportunity to cooperate with us. The offer, which is certainly attractive, is that the site owner provides the grid connection while Mobility installs the charging solution."
Charging stations from Schweizer Juice Technology AG
Mobility selected the three new business partners as part of a tender process. Juice Technology AG will supply the AC charging stations, EVTEC AG the DC stations, and Helion will take care of the electrical expansion.
In parallel, the cooperation with SBB will be continued in order to electrify Mobility locations at train stations. All Mobility e-cars run on electricity from 100 percent renewable energy sources.
Cards for reloading from the provider Gofast
Modern electric cars can travel hundreds of kilometers on a single battery charge. In order to reduce range anxiety, Mobility is placing charging cards from the fast-charging provider Gofast in each of its electric cars during the course of this month. These can be used for fast recharging at around 60 locations in Switzerland.
