Mobility
Longer trips alone or in a group should now be avoided as a matter of principle.

But please only with the utmost caution, appeals the industry association motosuisse urgently to the two-wheeled people.

Important for mobility of the population
Scooters, motorcycles and motor-assisted bicycles are an indispensable form of mobility for large sections of the population, especially in urban areas. Therefore, because of the measures against the spread of the virus, only the sales premises of the 700 companies in the scooter and motorcycle industry are closed, but not the workshops and repair departments.

This ensures the mobility of the population. By keeping the workshops open, the businesses are relieved economically, even if the enormously important spring sales business is largely absent in 2020.

Roland Müntener, President of the importers' association motosuisse: "Many Swiss people today refrain from using public transport for fear of being infected or out of consideration for infecting others. However, they are dependent on mobility for professional reasons and switch to motorcycles and scooters."

Compliance with all measures
Are motorcycles and scooters currently allowed to be used for private trips at all?

Roland Müntener: "Since there is no total lockdown in Switzerland, there is legally nothing in the way of a private exit. However, we naturally plead for the most meticulous compliance with all hygiene measures recommended by the Federal Council! We also recommend to refrain from longer rides alone or even in a group. And we ask all motorcycle and scooter riders, as well as all bicycle and e-bike riders, to be even more careful than usual and to look ahead.
