Mercedes-Benz: Star hour for the Stuttgart company 🎥
The Mercedes trademark celebrates its birthday. On November 5, 1921, Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) applied for trademark protection for one of the world's best-known trademarks today.
The anniversary campaign has now been launched on Mercedes' social media channels.
Mercedes-Benz has just maintained its position as the only European brand in the top ten of the "Best Global Brands 2021". As in the previous three years, the brand is ranked eighth in the ranking by the brand consultancy Interbrand. The brand value increased by three percent to 50.866 billion US dollars compared to 2020.
A star with a diameter of five meters
This year, the trademark celebrates an important anniversary. The star in the circle is 100 years old. A very special Mercedes star - five meters in diameter! - can currently be admired in front of the Mercedes-Benz Museum.
For a transitional period, the star of Stuttgart's train station tower is a guest while the building is being remodeled and renovated (Gallery Mitte). From 2025, the landmark of Baden-Württemberg's state capital will once again shine in its traditional place.
DMG trident star and laurel wreath
The merger of DMG with Benz & Cie to form Daimler-Benz AG in 1926 also caused their trademarks to merge. DMG's three-pointed star was surrounded by Benz's laurel wreath. With the success of the new automobile brand, this logo eventually became widely known worldwide.
