The Belgian group Alcomotive (a subsidiary of Alcopa Holding) is a major player in the field of automobile and motorcycle distribution, selling 84,000 vehicles a year of eleven different brands in eight European countries.
The Alcomotive Group has many years of experience in the distribution of Asian brand products and provides the know-how required for market entry.
Swiss dealer network still under construction
The vehicles will be distributed via a local dealer network, which will provide sales and advice as well as customer-oriented aftersales services. The dealer network is still under development.
The focus is on commercial vehicle partners who would like to supplement their portfolio with this brand. The focus is on professionalism and customer proximity.
Ecological commitment is the goal
With its range of electric vehicles, Maxus is targeting, among others, companies and public enterprises that want to underline their ecological commitment and require mobility in the short-distance sector at low overall costs or want to do without combustion engines.
Electric range up to 192 kilometers
The market entry is the Maxus EV80. The purely electric 3.5-ton van is available with a long wheelbase and with a medium or high roof, as well as a chassis cab. The maximum payload is 950 kilos. The range depends on the version selected, but can reach up to 192 kilometers.
The lithium iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 56kWh is charged in 8.5 hours with a 6.6kWh AC charger.
Charging time is no more than two hours
With a DC fast charger, the charging time is no more than two hours. The sophisticated temperature regulation maximizes the life of the battery. In addition, this allows it to be charged several times in succession. The EV80 is equipped with a permanent magnet electric motor of 92kW and 320 Nm, whose top speed is electronically limited to 100 km/h.
The list price is 62,500 Swiss francs for the chassis with cab and 65,900 Swiss francs for the van with high roof, plus VAT in both cases.
Model variant for the small segment
From March 2020, Maxus is expected to complete its range with the EV30 compact electric panel van. This model will be offered with a short or long wheelbase.
The customer can choose between a 35kWh or 52.5kWh battery. The electric motor produces 85kW and 255Nm of torque. The smaller battery offers a range of 220 kilometers. If the choice falls on the powerful battery with 52.5kWh, a range of up to 300 kilometers is said to be possible. With a DC fast charger, 80 percent of the battery charge can be achieved in 45 minutes.
The cargo volume is 5m3 with a short wheelbase and 6.3m3 with a long wheelbase. The internal width of the EV30 is adjusted to the size of a Euro pallet.
Batteries are available with up to 73kWh
The EV90 delivery van is expected in June 2020. This model serves the segments up to L3H3 with various variants.
Maxus offers a choice here between a battery with 52kWh or 73kWh to supply the engine with 150kW (310 Nm). The range is expected to be 200 kilometers with the small battery and 260 kilometers with the large battery.
The Swiss prices have not yet been determined.
