On average, drivers of e-cars will find a fast-charging station every 60 kilometers at rest stops and car parks.

In June, the service company Tank & Rast recorded 61 011 loading operations, almost three times as many as in the same month last year (22 737) and 8750 more than in May (52 261). This means that a total of 257,727 loading operations have already been recorded in the first half of 2021, compared with only 323,706 in the entire previous year.

Partners E.on, EnBW, Mer and Ionity
According to Tank & Rast, it operates the largest interconnected fast-charging network in Germany along the autobahn with its partners E.on, EnBW, Mer and Ionity at 367 locations and with almost 1400 charging points.

On average, drivers of e-cars should thus be able to find a fast-charging station every 60 kilometers at rest stops and car parks, with the stations at over 250 locations providing charging power of between 150 kW and 350 kW.

Vacation weekend with user record
Despite Corona, the number of loading operations continued to grow even in 2020. The reason: The rest areas with the service stations were open throughout the pandemic and the washrooms there were accessible free of charge.

Tank & Rast expects a record number of users over the coming vacation weekend, when school vacations are taking place throughout Germany.
