Kia's new B-segment crossover is called the Stonic. A "confident, compact eye-catcher" with European flair, its form and function are inspired by Kia's larger SUVs.
Naming from music
The name "Stonic" is a combination of the English words "speedy" and "tonic. In music, the tonic is the term for the keynote of a key - this naming is intended to indicate, among other things, that the vehicle brings a new, fresh note to the compact SUV segment.
Sweeping lines
The sweeping roofline and distinctive roof rack give the vehicle a sporty look, according to the manufacturer. The taillight graphics are designed to emphasize the young, futuristic appearance. The small SUV combines horizontal lines with softer, sculpted shapes.
Designed in Europe
The vehicle's interior, designed according to European taste, picks up on the exterior with straight lines, smooth surfaces and geometric design shapes. The interior is dominated by technology and ergonomics. "Smart packaging" maximizes space for all passengers, according to Kia, and an HMI (user interface) provides smartphone integration with the many on-board functions. The Stonic can also be configured more individually inside and out than any other Kia before it, according to the supplier.
