It is doubtful, however, whether the 172 kW (234 hp) output will remain the same as in the concept car, i.e. more than in the ID 3. The removable roof made of air-chamber textile is also unlikely to make it into series production. For the ID. LIFE has a range of around 400 kilometers with a battery capacity of 57 kWh.
Natural colorants and bio-based hardener
Natural and recycled materials were used for the vehicle. In the clearcoat for the body, wood chips are used as a natural colorant and a bio-based hardener.
The roof and front cover are made from recycled PET bottles. The interior uses wood, among other materials, and the tires are made from bio-oil, natural rubber and rice husks.
Operation digital and in the twinkling of an eye
The interior of the show car is multifunctional, and the controls are digital. In no time at all, the ID. LIFE can be transformed into a movie theater or gaming lounge. A game console and projector are on board. A projection screen that extends from the dashboard serves as the screen.
Cameras instead of mirrors inside and outside
Essential driving functions are controlled via a touch control panel on the hexagonal, open-top steering wheel. In addition, a smartphone can be integrated into the operating system.
Cameras and a display replace the exterior and interior mirrors. If required, the front bench seat can also be folded down completely, so that numerous variants are possible, from cinema seating to a bed to a cargo variant.
