As early as 1972, when the first plans for a mass transit vehicle were being drawn up, the concept was purely battery-powered. Visionary Nicolas Hayek also considered the Smart from the outset with the emission-free drive form. Since 2007, Smart has offered an all-electric option in every generation.
Now Smart is systematically switching to zero-emission, battery-electric drive technology. The brand is the first manufacturer in the world to switch from combustion engines to electric drives.
Adult design for a new era
Cool, minimalist design with pronounced, powerful wheel arches. Plus short overhangs and customizable accents. The exterior of the new generation is typical Smart. Integrated optional full-LED headlights and redesigned radiator grilles tie in seamlessly with the last show cars.
The revised interior is expected to impress above all thanks to expanded storage options and a rethought UX concept. The future infotainment generation comes with seamless smartphone integration, offering customers their familiar digital operating environment in their own car.
EQ Control App and Ready To Services
Whether it's status information about the car itself, charging it electrically, finding a free parking space and having it navigated, loading the Smart efficiently, sharing it with friends and family, or finding your way back to the Smart in a relaxed manner - the S EQ Control app and Ready To services do it all in mobile apps.
Immediately available torque
The all-electric driving experience enables a new dimension of pure driving pleasure. Immediate torque, seamless acceleration and almost absolute silence. The new Smart models thus continue to play all the trump cards of EQ technology. Thanks to clever packaging and a return to the brand's core, the concept remains lightweight and resource-efficient, offering sustainable mobility.
Reload in just under 40 minutes
With its optional 22kW on-board charger with fast-charging function, the models, which are also new, can be recharged from ten to 80 percent range in just under 40 minutes, when charging is possible via three phases depending on local conditions. Thanks to the cooperation with the charging network partner Plugsurfing, customers have access to almost any charging station.
