IAA 2019: Flexible travel is the future

TOMORROW'S AUTO WORLD The trend towards automated driving is opening up new scenarios in cars. The interior of the future can be adapted to the needs of passengers as an office or lounge.

Projections on the floor greet the driver and a simple gesture opens the vehicle door. At the same time, the seat contour adjusts for more comfortable boarding. Passengers decide how they want to spend their journey at the touch of a button.

Lounge mode provides relaxation
The interior then adjusts to the desired use: electronically controlled seats, screens and shelves take up a coordinated position. In work mode, the seat becomes an office chair, while shelves and a desk with an integrated charging station extend out of the cockpit.
Alternatively, the lounge mode provides relaxation. The seat assumes a reclining position, with leg rests and adjustable armrests adapting to the vehicle user. A music-controlled feel-good massage begins and the air flow from the air conditioning system automatically adjusts to the new position.

Interior sensors ensure safety
Brose is evolving from a specialist for electrically adjustable seat structures to a system supplier of dynamic interiors. For the first time, the adjustment of the steering wheel, center console and ventilation flaps as well as the integration of door and interior functions into an overall electronic system come from Brose. Seat belts integrated into the seat and a radar-based interior sensor ensure passenger safety.
For the first time, the joint venture between Brose and Aunde is presenting complete seats for passenger cars with ergonomically designed seat adjustments, consistent lightweight construction, seat covers made from recycled plastics and renewable materials.
