At the IAA, Volkswagen is bringing a new study of the electric SUV/crossover I.D. CROZZ in addition to its existing extensive product range.

The Volkswagen brand is presenting the world premiere of the I.D.CROZZ II in Frankfurt. The further developed electric study is part of the electric offensive, which will expand Volkswagen's model range with initially three models from 2020.

Crossover
The Volkswagen study on the subject, which will not go on sale in this form, is a crossover of SUV and four-door coupe that has already been further improved in the direction of series production. Among other things, this is reflected in various design changes to the front and rear of the concept car.

New interior
The interior (the so-called "open space") has also been newly equipped with a variable seating concept. The B-pillar has been dispensed with in the I.D.CROZZ II, so that the large swing and sliding doors can be opened wide and even the transport of a cross-bike is possible without any problems. The newly developed CleanAir system ensures that the air inside the vehicle is always clean, regardless of the ambient conditions.

Allrounder
According to the manufacturer, the I.D.CROZZ II is an emission-free all-rounder whose electric all-wheel drive is just as convincing on unpaved roads as it is in adverse weather conditions. One motor operates on the front and one on the rear axle, and power distribution is controlled via an electric cardan shaft. The range of the 225 kW (system output), 180 km/h SUV is up to 500 kilometers (NEDC) on one battery charge (factory specifications). The high-performance battery recovers 80 percent of its energy capacity in 30 minutes via a fast-charging system.

Extension
The future generation of the I.D. family will expand Volkswagen's model range. Volkswagen will launch the compact, fully electric four-door I.D. in the Golf segment as early as 2020 and, in parallel, the modern I.D.CROZZ in the SUV segment. In addition, the I.D.BUZZ - the reinterpretation of the Bulli - will go on sale in 2022.
