Honda is presenting an electric vehicle study at the IAA. Based on a completely new platform, the design and technology of the Honda Urban EV Concept provide a preview of a series-production electric vehicle from Honda, which is scheduled for launch in Europe in 2019.
Exterior design
The design of the Urban EV Concept, which is 100 mm shorter than the Honda Jazz, is sleek and modern. Its low and wide proportions emphasize the vehicle's sporty character. The Honda emblem on the electric vehicle study features blue backlighting and offers a taste of a new design feature that will be found on future electric vehicles from Honda. Data on the technical basis and equipment are not yet known.
Interior
The Urban EV Concept seats four occupants. For a relaxed lounge atmosphere, the front row of seats is covered in a natural gray fabric material, while the seat and armrests feature wood trim. The dashboard houses a large-screen display that extends behind the console and into the doors. On it is information about the vehicle and battery status. Meanwhile, the extended door screens function as side mirrors that have integrated digital camera displays.
