At the IAA, the experts from LG's automotive electronics division will be showing, among other things, combination rear lamps in energy-saving and durable OLED technology.

LG Electronics is primarily showcasing components for automotive engineering at the IAA. These include, for example, the company's first OLED taillights, which are being used in vehicles from a major European car manufacturer.

Technology of the future
The OLED taillight developed by the company leverages what it claims is its global leadership in OLED technology. The new taillight is more compact than conventional lighting modules, as it is up to 85 to 90 percent smaller than traditional taillights without backlighting. It generates less heat, which improves durability and longevity, among other benefits.

More products
In addition to the new OLED rear lamp, the manufacturer will showcase other products such as AV navigation systems, infotainment systems and comfort enhancement devices such as ADAS cameras, LCD instrument panels and electric compressors.

Fast growing
LG Vehicle Components is LG's fastest growing business unit and will play an important role in the company's future growth. For its contribution to the success of the Chevy Bolt, LG was awarded the GM Innovation Award of the Year this year. This award follows other honors such as Renault's Supplier Award and Volkswagen's Technology and Innovation Award.

Presence to be expanded
We plan to expand our presence and expertise in the fast-growing electric vehicle market by working very closely with industry leaders in Europe, North America and Asia," said Lee Woo-Jung, president of LG Vehicle Components Company.
