ZERO PROBLEMS IN THE TERRITORY The Tiger is a completely new type of vehicle from Hyundai. It can remotely transport goods in inaccessible terrain as a four-legged work tool. Hyundai refers to it as the Ultimate Mobility Vehicle. With its legs attached, the Tiger drives like a four-wheel drive vehicle. If the going gets tougher, the walk mode switches on. Even in the model designation of the extraterrestrial-looking vehicle [...]
When the legs are applied, the Tiger drives like a four-wheel drive vehicle. If it gets more difficult, the walk mode switches on.
The model name of the extraterrestrial-looking vehicle already communicates Hyundai's function and intended use: Tiger stands for Transforming Intelligent Ground Excursion Robot, i.e. a robot for every mission...,
It also introduces a new category of vehicle. The convertible all-terrain robot for unmanned use can transport various types of loads as it drives or walks.
Locomotion systems with legs and wheels
The extraordinary capabilities of the Tiger are based on a modular platform that enables locomotion systems with legs and wheels. Coupling with unmanned aerial vehicles is even envisaged.
With its legs attached, the Tiger drives like a four-wheel drive vehicle. As soon as the terrain becomes impassable or particularly difficult passages can no longer be mastered with the wheels, walk mode switches on and the Tiger begins to climb.
The future of mobility and transportation
John Suh, head of New Horizons Studio, said, "Vehicles like the Tiger and the technologies they incorporate allow us to continually evolve our imaginations. We're always on the lookout for ways to rethink vehicle design and development, to reimagine the future of mobility and transportation."
