Hyundai: favorite of fleet operators

The Hyundai Kona Electric is in use with more than 110 corporate customers across Europe. In Switzerland, the St. Gallen cantonal police and Romande Energie, among others, rely on the small electric car as a fleet vehicle.

Police corps also enjoy the benefits of the compact and locally emission-free Kona Electric.

The Hyundai Kona Electric is the first choice for many corporate fleets. At the UK Fleet News Awards 2022, Hyundai picked up the award for Best Zero Emission Car under £40,000 for the all-electric subcompact SUV.

In Germany, the UK, France, Italy and Spain, the more than 11,000 units represent 4.2 percent of the total BEV category in the true-fleet segment. Comparing the sales channels, the Kona Electric is even proportionately more successful in the fleet sector than in the private sector.

13 police vehicles are already in use
In Switzerland, the St. Gallen cantonal police and Romande Energie SA, among others, count on the electric Kona as a fleet vehicle. The Kapo St. Gallen uses five vehicles in the patrol colors and eight in the civilian look.

Romande Energie SA switched to electric vehicles in August 2021 when it replaced its fleet. Hyundai has signed five contracts with the largest leasing partners. Through these companies, the automaker has relationships with more than 116 customers at the European level - including Coca-Cola and Uber.

The main reason is the all-electric drive
One of the main reasons for the vehicle's popularity with fleet customers is its all-electric powertrain. Two versions are available - one with a 64 kWh battery and one with a 39.2 kWh battery. They offer WLTP ranges of up to 484 kilometers.

The SUV is also small enough to drive easily on narrow European roads, but also offers enough space for comfortable travel. In addition, many driver assistance systems are on board.

Private customers and corporate partners with Hyundai models in their fleets can use Charge my Hyundai, an integrated public charging service across Europe. As a partner of Ionity, this system connects fleet customers with more than 400 high-performance charging stations in 24 European countries.
