Harley-Davidson: More dynamic with new paint scheme
HOW IT LIKES The new Apex Factory Custom Paint Design gives selected Harley-Davidson Grand American Touring models an even racier appearance in the future.
For the first time, the touring models with the new livery will be on display at the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota, USA. There, the Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle factory team will defend its victory in the 2021 MotoAmerica King of the Baggers championship, continuing a legacy established more than a century ago at Hill Climb, Drag Race and Flat Track.
Homage to legendary XR750
The new paint scheme features a graphic outline on the fuel tank, an homage to the tank shape of the legendary Harley-Davidson XR750 flat track racing machine.
On models with fairings, the graphic runs at a special angle to the rear to express speed. The lines on the front fender visually combine with those on the side panels and the trunks, creating a flowing effect. In this way, the motorcycle conveys dynamism even when stationary.
Jet Fire Orange Accent Stripes
The new color scheme is based on a Vivid Black basecoat. A graphic element traces Gauntlet Gray panels surrounded by an accent stripe in Jet Fire Orange - the original color of the XR750 Racing motorcycles. Each panel features drop shadows and a subtle Bar & Shield logo.
The slight color gradient is also based on the racing motorcycles of the Harley-Davidson Factory Team. A clear coat forms the refining final layer of this special paint finish. The Apex Custom paint is applied specifically at Harley-Davidson York Vehicle Assembly and Harley-Davidson Tomahawk Operations.
In Switzerland, the special paint is available for Road King Special, Ultra Limited and Road Glide Special.
