NCAP
Five stars were awarded to the Renault Zoe with a realistic range of 319 kilometers.

The new procedure focuses on pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions, fuel consumption and energy consumption. Only two electric vehicles achieve five stars.

The Renault Zoe (52 kWh) with a realistic range of 319 kilometers at an average power consumption of 22.3 kWh per 100 kilometers and the Hyundai Kona. Hyundai's model has lower electricity consumption (22.2 kWh/100 km), but only manages 202 kilometers with its 39.2 kWh standard battery.

Important contribution of hybrid models
Used efficiently, however, hybrid models can also make a significant contribution to reducing greenhouse gases, according to Green NCAP.

The Toyota C-HR 1.8 Hybrid achieves 3.5 stars with an average consumption of 5.4 liters per 100 kilometers, while the Honda CR-V received one star (2.5) less because of its greenhouse gas emissions and energy efficiency. However, both models lack a particulate filter, which costs them points in terms of pollutant emissions.

VW Polo with best emissions performance
Five conventional gasoline engines achieved three stars in the test: VW Polo, Renault Clio and Captur as well as Peugeot 208 and 2008.

In detail, the VW Polo 1.0 TSI showed the best emission behavior, the Renault Clio and the Peugeot 208 convinced with the lowest fuel consumption. 2.5 stars were awarded to the Nissan Qashqai and the Suzuki Vitara, the Mazda MX-5 received two stars.

Two and three stars for natural gas vehicles
Among the diesel vehicles, one received three stars (Mercedes-Benz C-Class), four models 2.5 (BMW 3 Series, Dacia Duster, Peugeot 3008, VW Passat) and one model two stars (Jeep Renegade).

Four times only 1.5 stars were awarded, including three large vans: Kia Sportage, Mercedes-Benz V-Class, Opel Zafira Life and VW T6.1. The two natural gas cars Seat Ibiza 1.0 TGI and Audi A4 Avant g-Tron scored three or two stars.
