After the two days of press, which brought together about 10 680 media representatives as well as automotive industry executives from around the world, the general public discovered Salon 2018 during eleven days of exhibition. Two hours before the official closing, the electronic access system registered about 660 000 entries, a decrease of 4.5 % compared to 2017.
Satisfied exhibitors and organizers of the Salon
Maurice Turrettini, President of the Geneva Motor Show "We are very pleased with this result, especially given the rather unattractive economic climate and the often hostile attitude towards the automotive industry from the media and politicians." And General Director André Hefti doubled down: "This slight decrease even contributed to a better quality of visit; the flow of visitors in the aisles of the show was more fluid, the waiting times in the restaurants shorter, and above all, there was more space to examine attractive cars." The initial results of an exhibitor survey confirm these statements. The 89th International Motor Show will be held from March 7 to 17, 2019.
