The LC 500h is equipped with the next generation of the hybrid drive with multi-stage gear reduction. The second premiere is the LF-FC concept car. The Lexus LC 500h (AutoSprintCH reported) is equipped with the Lexus Hybrid DriveMulti Stage, specially developed for high-performance vehicles. The compact and lightweight new e-motor, the 3.5 liter V6 combustion engine and the Li-Ion battery pack have been combined with a 4-speed automatic transmission. As a result, the hybrid drive responds much more spontaneously.
The 4.76-meter coupe rests on a completely new platform with an ultra-rigid body. Takumi craftsmanship dominates the interior. Also making its debut in the LC 500h is the new multimedia system with faster software and a new graphical user interface. The LC 500h with a system output of 354 hp (LC 500 V8 naturally aspirated with 477 hp and 530 Nm) and rear-wheel drive will not make it to showrooms until 2017. That prolongs the anticipation. Prices and equipment details for Switzerland are not yet known.
Fuel cell model in the program from 2020
With the LF-FC, which is equipped with a high-performance fuel cell, all-wheel drive, gesture control and autonomous driving technologies, Lexus is underlining its intention to also include a fuel cell vehicle in its model range by around 2020. The fuel cell powertrain emits neither CO2, NOX nor particulates, but only water vapor during operation. In addition, this drive is about twice as energy-efficient as current gasoline and diesel engines.
