Genesis: Top marks for the G models

FIVE STARS The Euro NCAP tests are one of the most important accompaniments to a new car launch. Now the Genesis models G70, G70 Shooting Brake and GV70 have impressed with their high level of occupant protection in a recent round of tests.

Genesis top marks NCAP
The triple team of G models from Genesis performed optimally in the tests.

Five stars for the Genesis G70, G70 Shooting Brake and GV70 models. In the latest Euro NCAP test, all three vehicles from the Korean automaker have been awarded the top rating for their high level of safety. This means that all models of this brand offered in Europe have now received the maximum of five stars.

Good values for airbag in the center
The G models scored well not only for adult and child occupant protection, but also for pedestrian protection and assistance systems. Euro NCAP praised the impact stability and protection offered by the passenger cell in the side impact test.

Seats and head restraints showed optimum protection against cervical spine injuries in the event of a rear-end collision. The brand's patented center airbag was also rated very highly.

Advanced safety systems
In the assistance systems category, Euro NCAP awarded Genesis for its advanced safety systems. In particular, the Autonomous Emergency Brake Assist and the attention and lane departure warning systems received high scores.

Dominique Bösch, Managing Director of Genesis Motor Europe: "As an independent and impartial safety consultancy, Euro NCAP has long enjoyed the trust of customers. The fact that Genesis has now once again achieved the maximum rating of five stars following the first round of tests in May is testament to its wide range of active and passive safety technologies."

In addition to the G70 sedan and the GV70 SUV, the G70 Shooting Brake can now also be ordered. Specially developed for Europe (AutoSprintCH reported), the premium station wagon is the fifth new Genesis model in Switzerland in less than a year.
