Seat Annual Press Conference.
At the annual press conference on financial statements, the Seat Board of Management was able to announce good results.

2016 went extremely well for Seat; last year the company achieved its best result in its history. Sales were 8,597 million euros, up 3.2 percent on the previous year. The company thus achieved the best year in its history to date. This was due to rising sales and a better vehicle mix.

Export-oriented
In 2016, Seat exported 82.4 percent of its production and positioned itself as the leading exporter in the Spanish industry. The sales launch of the Ateca, Seat's first SUV, and the sales figures for the Leon and Alhambra gave the manufacturer its fourth consecutive annual sales growth (408,700 vehicles, an increase of almost 30 percent over the past four years) and its best result since 2007.

Product offensive
The biggest product offensive in the company's history, with four new models from 2016 to 2017, has led to a record level of total investment. Among other projects, this benefits the new MQB-A0 platform, which Seat will be the first company in the Volkswagen Group to use for production of the fifth-generation Ibiza. "The 2016 results mark a turning point and are the result of our efforts in recent years. We are back in the black, both in terms of operating profit and profit after tax," said CEO Luca de Meo at the annual financial press conference.

2017 a very special year
In 2017, Seat will complete the biggest product offensive in its corporate history - with the sales launch of the fifth generation Ibiza, which will be in dealerships from the summer, and the market launch of the new, compact Arona crossover in the second half of the year. These models, both manufactured at the Martorell plant in Spain, join the Ateca, which was launched in 2016, and the revamped Leon, which has been available since January.
