Ford: Filling up the wrong way is a thing of the past

Easy Fuel was introduced from 2008. The technology is now fitted as standard in all Ford vehicles in Europe. A study from Great Britain proves the effectiveness of Easy Fuel. Incidents of misfueling fell by 74 percent in 2016 compared with 2009. In 2008, the British Automobile Association was still called out more than 1,350 times for misfueled Ford vehicles; from July 2015 to July 2016, only just under 350 cases were recorded.
Correct behavior saves repair costs
Exact figures for Switzerland are not available. On its website, the TCS reports a total of more than 10,000 cases (all vehicle brands) of misfueling in Switzerland every year. According to the TCS, anyone who reacts incorrectly in the event of a misfueling can expect repair costs of up to 5,000 Swiss francs. The correct behavior in the event of a misfueling: Do not start the engine, call the hotline of the respective manufacturer and have the tank pumped out.
