Chassis: Tutoring for classics
TUNING The classic dampers and classic coilovers from KW Automotive differ from conventional classic car suspension replacement parts primarily in their vehicle-specific tuning methodology.
When it comes to suspension developments for classic cars, KW Automotive focuses primarily on vehicles from the 1970s and 1980s. New in the product range is now the KW-V3 classic coilover suspension for the Opel Kadett C.
With its independently adjustable compression and rebound dampers, it gives the rear-wheel-drive Opel models built from 1973 to 1979 new handling characteristics. The Kadett rides more true to track, handling is more direct and the body structure is better supported.
Analyses with F1 vehicle dynamics test bench
With the help of a vehicle dynamics test bench, like the one used by Formula 1 teams, the suspension manufacturer analyzes, among other things, the resonance frequencies of the car body when developing KW classic applications for classic and youngtimers.
Thus, even before the first driving tests take place, it is simulated what exactly happens when driving over a bump.
More driving comfort thanks to multi-valve technology
However, the multi-valve damper technology used in the Klassik coilover suspension also gives the Kadett C a big boost in ride comfort. In addition, lowering by 25 to 50 millimeters is possible.
Starting at 2870 Swiss francs, the KW-V3 classic coilover suspension made of stainless steel is available for all two- and four-door Kadett C sedans as well as for the Kadett C Coupé.
