EuroSkills 2023: Silver medal for Fabio Bossart 🎥

STRONG PERFORMANCE At EuroSkills 2023 in Gdansk, Fabio Bossart from Lucerne came second. This means another success at a competition on the international stage for the Swiss automotive trade.

Exciting days lie behind Fabio Bossart, the reigning Swiss champion of automotive mechatronics. The Lucerne native can now also call himself Euro-Skills runner-up, as the 21-year-old succeeded in the medal hunt after a nerve-wracking competition in the "Truck and Bus Technology" profession. In the process, he missed the gold medal by just seven points with 729 points. First place went to Lucas Ianni from France, while third place went to Emil Didriksson from Sweden.

Fabio Bossart provided the right solution at the decisive moment.

Intensive preparation

Fabio Bossart: "It's the reward for all the work over the last eight months. I have succeeded in some items, but for example my favorite item, motor mechanics, pretty much went down the drain. I didn't have a specific placement in mind, I just wanted to be happy with my performance."

Indeed, the preparation period for the European title fight was intense. That's because, in addition to the requirements, Bossart is currently training to become an automotive diagnostician. He completed his first apprenticeship as an automotive mechatronics technician in the commercial vehicle sector at Grund AG Fahrzeuge in Triengen and now works in the passenger vehicle sector at Luzerner Auto Birrer AG in Sursee.

Excellent balance

Olivier Maeder, Management of the Education Division: "With Jean Trotti as our expert, we took part in the commercial vehicle competition at EuroSkills for the second time and, following the gold medal in 2021 by Damian Schmid, we have an excellent record with Fabio Bossart's silver medal. We are proud of Fabio." (Gallery right from left).
