At the Essen Motor Show, fans of unusual vehicles get their money's worth.
At the PS Festival of the Year, the Design Cars and Crazy Cars, as well as the special Power Of Motorsport show, the tuningXperience and the Motorsport Arena are just some of the events at the show that are well worth seeing.
Rolls-Royce Shadow by Goldfinger
Michael Fischer realized a highlight of film history on his 1978 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. "Goldfinger" from the James Bond series is the theme realized in a striking painting style. Incidentally, the 1965 Phantom model piloted by villain Oddjob was painted a sleek black - underneath, however, everything is pure gold.
Works of art by private individuals
Ralf Sawatzki, project manager of the Motorshow Essen: "Of course, these are really crazy vehicles that are on display. Especially the private individuals who present their works of art here - these are not just cars that you drive every day - but exhibits that are brought on trailers. In terms of the paintwork, the interior, the appearance - it's pure passion."
Fitted with snakeskin
Jürgen Book's Buick Riviera Rivtile is fantastic in this respect. The motorized reptile was assembled over eight years from individual parts - fitted with snakeskin on the inside and finished on the outside by Gerd Müller with water-based paints to create a masterpiece.
For nine days, these and over 500 other exhibitors will be presenting refined cars, crazy automotive ideas and the tuning trends of the coming year.
